A Lot To Talk About In The Class Reunion

Elsa didn't know how to feel about tonight.

It had been ten years since she had graduated from high school, so the reason she was currently in a fancy hotel wearing full makeup and an elegant black dress was because tonight was going to be none other than the ten-year class reunion of her graduating class.

For most people, a class reunion meant catching up with their former classmates and reminiscing about all of their shared memories from high school. But for Elsa, this class reunion was going to involve a lot more explaining than usual.

You see, just seven years ago, Elsa had experienced Second Puberty, a still poorly understood genetic mutation that cause people to change into the opposite sex. In other words, ten years ago - that is, when she had graduated from high school - there was no Elsa because everyone knew her as Elliot instead!

There were a million other things she would prefer to talk about tonight, but she was already imagining all of the things she would have to explain every time she spoke with a classmate that didn't recognize her:

That she was in fact Elliot, but had legally changed her name to Elsa a few months after Second Puberty had changed her into a woman.

That the reason she was wearing a golden ring in her right hand was because she was in fact married, having tied the knot just two years ago with a young, handsome man she had met during her senior year of college.

And that the reason he had not come alongside her to the class reunion was because he had stayed home taking care of the child she had given birth to just a few months ago.

This was certainly going to be a long night, but even with how annoying she knew this was going to be, she was still glad to be here. Not only was she going to see former friends and classmates she hadn't seen in years, but she also had only been a mother for a few months, meaning that she could unequivocally say that being a mother was by the far the most difficult thing she had done in her entire life. Thus, being able to have a break from taking care of her newborn child for just a few days was a blessing she was not going to waste.
