What The Subordinates See And Don't See
Before the Role Exchanger, Mr. Anderson was just like your typical humorless office manager.
He was always overbearing about maintaining deadlines and sending all of the office to corporate as soon as possible.
He always berated his subordinates if they didn't follow his direct instructions or if they made even the slightest of errors in their reports.
And he never, ever put on a smile while at work, almost as if he were devoid of any feelings whatsoever.
He was - and this is how many of his subordinates described him - a 'pain-in-the-ass' to work with.
That was, until the Role Exchanger happened. One evening Mr. Anderson left the office as always, only for a completely different person to walk in the next morning.
His subordinates were still figuring out just how much had the Role Exchanger changed Mrs. Anderson, but from what they could see the next morning and the following days, this is what they had gathered:
Obviously, Mrs. Anderson wasn't a man anymore. From the unmistakable pair of breasts on his chest to the sheer lack of a bulge between his legs, it was more than clear that Mr. Anderson was a woman now. And with other changes such as a luscious mane of brown hair falling, a distinct high-pitched voice, and a female body with curves in all of the right places, Mrs. Anderson had become quite an attractive woman.
He also happened to become a very small woman as well. One of the things that made Mr. Anderson particularly terrifying - that's how many of his subordinates described him - was his imposing height of almost six-feet and two-inches tall. But now that he barely reached five-feet tall even while wearing heels, pretty much everyone had to look down at him.
His skin had also tanned a bit from its former white, betraying the fact that the Role Exchanger had not turned him just into a petite, attractive woman, but into a petite, attractive Latina who now went by Alejandra and who could now speak Spanish with a distinct Mexican accent perfectly.
And of course, he was way younger now. Mr. Anderson was already in his mid-fifties, only for the Role Exchanger to reduce his age by half, turning him now into a young, petite attractive Latina easily in her mid-twenties.
But despite all of these changes, by far, the biggest, most impactful one that had happened to him was that his personality was now completely different.
Gone were the days were he was a 'pain-in-the-ass' to work with.
Instead, the most overbearing man in the office had become by far the most cheerful Latina in the entire office, always cracking jokes and checking all the time if every one of his subordinates was doing alright. Not only that, but now when any of his subordinates made a small mistake, he would just tell them to not worry too much and to simply do better next time. Heck, he now made it so that every Friday evening after they all had finally sent the last batch of office reports to corporate, he would open a few tequilas to celebrate the end of the workweek!
This would have already been the cherry on top of the cake if it weren't for the fact he was still as effective of an office manager as he was before the Role Exchanger. The only difference now was that he was actually enjoyable to work with!
There were still a few other minor, more eccentric changes that the Role Exchanger had done to him such making him into an avid fan of horror films, making him allergic to apples, or giving him an itch to bite his fingernails whenever he doze off, but pretty much everyone at the office agreed on one thing:
Mr. Anderson - or more correctly now Mrs. Alejandra - was a different person for the better.
As for Mrs. Alejandra herself, it seemed like she was having a good time with her new self.
But what none of her subordinates knew was that outside the office, she was dealing with all of the disadvantages that came with the Role Exchanger.
Not only was she dealing with all of the documentation she had to update both at her job and with the government, but she was also dealing with the cognitive dissonance that came with being a victim of the Role Exchanger.
She still vividly remembered everything about how she was when she was still a tall, serious man in her fifties, and yet, she simply couldn't stop herself from acting like the young, cheerful Latina she had become!
It was absolutely mind-boggling!
Thus, just like many other people in her same situation, she had been going to therapy in order to come to terms with the new person she had become.
Unsurprisingly, there was still a long road ahead for her, but at the very least, she could tell her therapist the following thing: having all of her subordinates at her office actually like her was one of things that was helping her the most with coming to terms with her new life as Alejandra.
But for now, none of her subordinates needed to know that.
