James or Jacqueline, Jacqueline or James?

Jacqueline glared at herself in the mirror as she reluctantly took a selfie, loathing the fact that no matter how much she tried to behave as her former self, this was her new reality and she couldn't do much about it.

She knew that she shouldn't have toyed with that strange machine which supposedly had the capability to change reality. And yet, that is exactly what she did, and now she was paying dearly for it.

In the blink of an eye, James and everything related to him ceased to exist, and was replaced by Jacqueline, the red-headed young woman who loved taking selfies and wearing the nicest tops and skirts.

The worse thing was that the strange machine which had caused all of this was nowhere to be found, meaning that the only thing in the world which had the ability to revert everything and return her to her former self was now lost to her.

In other words, she was stuck like this.

As a woman. A woman called Jacqueline who remembered every detail of her own life as well as every detail of her former life as James. A woman who on the one hand, felt completely at home inside her female body, but on the other hand, felt troubled by her need to return back to her former male body.

With so many conflicting thoughts and feelings inside her head, she hoped that this new reality of hers didn't bring any more unwanted changes to her already unwanted circumstances.

To her own dismay, it took her very little time to discover that not only did she have a boyfriend in this new reality, but that his boyfriend was none other than her best friend in her former life as James.
